I&#8217;ve been busy, and the screwy weather hasn&#8217;t helped. Anyway, on with the show&#8230;<br \/>\nWith the light being what it was, all I can say about this guy is &#8220;Bird&#8221;:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2fCQnbm\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/IMGP1345_0016_tn.png\"><\/A><br \/>\nOn a nice warm day like this, Turtles were out all over the place:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/RX2kjV\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/IMGP1383_0014_tn.png\"><\/A><br \/>\nPlus some other creatures:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2ejwsoR\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/IMGP1380_0015_tn.png\"><\/A><br \/>\nYes, Dragonflies are coming out now. Give &#8217;em another month and they&#8217;ll be everywhere:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/TzeUN1\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/IMGP1651_0003_tn.png\"><\/A><br \/>\nThe Ducks are, of course, here year-round (a bit surprising I didn&#8217;t see a female in this group):<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2fHw7qV\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/IMGP1400_0013_tn.png\"><\/A><br \/>\nThe <A HREF=\"https:\/\/www.allaboutbirds.org\/guide\/Osprey\/overview\">Osprey<\/A> were out and about too:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2fHvwdg\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/IMGP1687_0001_tn.png\"><\/A><br \/>\nThey always have a nest on top of the water-system intake structure. I wasn&#8217;t sure, but upon a close look there is a head in there amongst the branches, towards the left side.<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/RX26YB\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/IMGP1433_0011_tn.png\"><\/A><br \/>\nThe calling made it clear, though, that someone was home. As luck would have at, after I came ashore I was sitting on the dock taking in the view and the breeze when I spotted an Osprey overhead. I watched as he almost stopped in mid-air, hovered a bit, then tucked into a dive right straight down into the water. I didn&#8217;t see if he came up with anything, but it was neat to watch. Unfortunately, I was sitting on the dock and my camera was in the boat over by the ramp. Oh well.<br \/>\nOne inlet I went up turned out to be where the meeting must have been being held. A whole bunch of <A HREF=\"https:\/\/www.allaboutbirds.org\/guide\/Double-crested_Cormorant\/overview#\">Double-crested Cormorants<\/A> and Herons decided to head the other way (I hope the meeting was just breaking up, not that I broke it up):<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2fHvUdi\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/IMGP1515_0009_tn.png\"><\/A><br \/>\nOf course, we have the obligatory <A HREF=\"https:\/\/www.allaboutbirds.org\/guide\/Great_Blue_Heron\/overview#\">Great Blue Heron<\/A> picture:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2ejw37K\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/IMGP1561_0005_tn.png\"><\/A><br \/>\nAs usual, click on the pictures for a full-res version.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know, what took me so long to get the first Creature Feature of 2019 posted?
