A quick change of plans got me <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strava.com\/activities\/7753569178\">out on the lake<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n<p>Some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/double-crested-cormorant\">Double-Crested Cormorants<\/a> are still hanging around:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nJAWt7\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8053_tn.png\"><\/a><br \/>\nGreat Egrets are around this time of year, but this isn&#8217;t one of them. This is actually a juvenile <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/little-blue-heron\">Little Blue Heron<\/a> (fool me once&#8230;):<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nJyJvE\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8110_tn.png\"><\/a><br \/>\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/canada-goose\">Geese<\/a> are, of course, here year-round:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nJyJuH\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8128_tn.png\"><\/a><br \/>\nThese Geese might have been migrating, but I suspect they were locals out practicing migration formations:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nJyJpN\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8234_tn.png\"><\/a><br \/>\nThis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/osprey\">Osprey<\/a> seemed to be just playing around in the wind. I&#8217;m sure, though, that if he spotted a fish, play time would have turned quickly into lunch time:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nJtRaT\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8136_tn.png\"><\/a><br \/>\nNow <b>here&#8217;s<\/b> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/great-egret\">Great Egret<\/a>:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nJzWrD\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8162_tn.png\"><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nJyJik\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8262_tn.png\"><\/a><br \/>\nAnd, of course, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/great-blue-heron\">Great Blue Heron<\/a> picture. This one was standing on top of a duck house at the end of a backwater and didn&#8217;t seem concerned at all about my approach.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nJyJBm\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8000_tn.png\"><\/a><br \/>\nThis one was hanging out near the Cormorant and decided to head off into the fog:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nJyJxi\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8066_tn.png\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was planning a bike ride this morning, but there was just a bit too much fog in the area for my tastes, or risk analysis.
