(Reminder, since it&#8217;s been a while, you can click on the images here to get to a full-resolution version.)<\/p>\n<p>A little catch up, a few weeks ago I was about to go out the back door and stopped to see if I&#8217;d be disturbing anyone out there. I saw this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/coopers-hawk\">Cooper&#8217;s Hawk<\/a> in a nearby tree:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onyDEV\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8397_tn.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\nTurns out he stopped by for a late dinner (there wasn&#8217;t much light left). Later I looked around and found what looked like some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/carolina-chickadee\">Chickadee<\/a> feathers below the dinner table.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onz5Eh\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8399_tn.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\nLots of creatures find a meal in my yard.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, like I said, things are greening up already:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onwxCe\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8683_tn.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\nAnd there were a bunch of these little flowers popping up along the bank of that little feeder stream:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onwxwx\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8695_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few ducks were out and about:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onyDAg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8532_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A group of my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/american-crow\">Corvid familiars<\/a> were hanging out in some trees on an island:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onxLJA\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8554_tn.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onxLFK\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8586_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Motion caught my eye, and I was a bit surprised to be able to get a picture of this little <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/tufted-titmouse\">Tufted Titmouse<\/a> in a bush on the shore:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onz5vj\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8599_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/turkey-vulture\">Turkey Vulture<\/a> was soaring up high, on patrol for a cleanup job:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onyDuV\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8632_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/double-crested-cormorant\">Cormorants<\/a> are starting to gather in numbers here, getting ahead of the shad probably.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onwxCQ\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8646_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not too early for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/osprey\">Osprey<\/a> to be getting down to business:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onwxr7\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8734_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Didn&#8217;t see any Herons around, but of course the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/canada-goose\">Canada Geese<\/a> are here all the time (I hear &#8217;em partying all night):<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2ontMr3\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8771_tn.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\nThis guy let me get a bit closer than I would have thought, but she was also keeping a close eye on me:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2onz5cD\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/IMGP8776_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Route on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strava.com\/activities\/8725844256\">Strava<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, everything else around here seems to be getting into spring early, so I figured I might as well join in and start using my new boat permit.
