Here&#8217;s some random pictures from the last couple of months.<\/p>\n<p>This little snake was patrolling around the house:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2pXKDGo\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/PXL_20240319_160422244_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nDeer end up on the side of the road with distressing regularity around here, but we do have efficient cleanup crews.<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2pXDcx4\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/PXL_20240323_174736264_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nThis patch of spring flowers attracted lots of butterflies:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2pXKbjS\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/PXL_20240406_181755629_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nEven this <A href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anolis_carolinensis\">Green Anole<\/A> was showing a fresh &#8220;coat&#8221; for spring:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2pXDcuP\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/PXL_20240424_160643140_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nThe cicada rush is about over here now, but for a while we had a lot of these &#8220;cicada shell casings&#8221; hanging around:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2pXL8Qy\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/PXL_20240501_163852350.MP_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nNow <i>this<\/i> is a &#8220;bloomin&#8217; onion&#8221;! There&#8217;s a bumble bee under that left-hand bloom having a ball (my front yard is more &#8220;meadow&#8221; than &#8220;lawn&#8221;, and I like it that way):<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2pXL8Qo\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/PXL_20240604_212936615_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nI&#8217;ve seen <A HREF=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Manduca_quinquemaculata\">Tomato Hornworm<\/A> caterpillars like this, but not one of these caterpillars. Those white things are the eggs of a parasitic wasp that is a friend to our tomato plants.<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2pXDcut\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/PXL_20240612_193144360_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nOn the lake early one morning, I got way closer than usual to this Heron before I saw him. I wondered if he was ok, but I came back this way about half an hour later and he was gone, so maybe he was just waking up (the obligatory <A HREF=\"https:\/\/www.audubon.org\/field-guide\/bird\/great-blue-heron\">Great Blue Heron<\/A> picture).<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2pXL8Pr\"><IMG SRC=\"\/media\/PXL_20240611_100609601_tn.jpg\"><\/A><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been busy lately, but that hasn&#8217;t stopped me from noticing the world around me and occasionally whipping out the camera.
