This Seagull is far from the coast, but that&#8217;s not unusual for this time of year:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/u\/0\/photos\/111937200226914845828\/albums\/5513116066249600065\/5962990654506922898?pid=5962990654506922898&amp;oid=111937200226914845828\"><IMG SRC=\"http:\/\/wildcorvid.org\/media\/IMGP8325_0003_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nOne of the geese seems to be off to a rough start to winter, but she seemed to be flying just fine, even if minus a few flight feathers:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/u\/0\/photos\/111937200226914845828\/albums\/5513116066249600065\/5962990564305920082?pid=5962990564305920082&amp;oid=111937200226914845828\"><IMG SRC=\"http:\/\/wildcorvid.org\/media\/IMGP8365_0002_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nThe weather cleared up just in time this weekend to get in some flying. I think this is Rainbow Falls, near Jones Gap, SC (click on the picture and zoom into the full-res image):<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/u\/0\/photos\/111937200226914845828\/albums\/5512492014183163921\/5962990930502291714?pid=5962990930502291714&amp;oid=111937200226914845828\"><IMG SRC=\"http:\/\/wildcorvid.org\/media\/IMGP8434_0003_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nwhile clouds hung on over the Smokie Mountains:<br \/>\n<A HREF=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/u\/0\/photos\/111937200226914845828\/albums\/5512492014183163921\/5962991376279368642?pid=5962991376279368642&amp;oid=111937200226914845828\"><IMG SRC=\"http:\/\/wildcorvid.org\/media\/IMGP8451_0002_tn.jpg\"><\/A><br \/>\nI know this is a &#8220;creature feature&#8221; and you don&#8217;t see any creatures in those last two pictures, but I&#8217;m sure they&#8217;re in there somewhere. Some would consider the planet itself a creature (check out the <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.barnesandnoble.com\/w\/powers-that-be-anne-mccaffrey\/1100167246?ean=9780345387790\">&#8220;Powers That Be&#8221;<\/A> series of books by Ann McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough for a story of a planet that really does fit that description).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I hung out in the back yard for a bit on Christmas Day and snapped a few pictures of the backyard wildlife.
