Day 1

These pictures show the progress as of the end of the first day. Most of the old sealant on the open areas forward and aft of the spar has been cleaned off.

Top/aft of the spar. Somewhat visible is the glob of old sealant above the spar.
Aft side of the spar. Note the scrapings piled up. This was the easy part.
Forward of the spar. Note the duct tape placed on the quantity tab to prevent its sharp edge from being dulled by my arms and hands.
The first day's scrapings on the hanger floor. Funny, it looked like a lot more up in the tank. Visible in the background (left to right) are the fluorescent droplight, customized creeper, and shop vac used on the project.
